A selfie shows persuasion when the picture, as utterance, participates mostly in deliberative discourse. Deliberative discourse aims at implementing future actions. In this kind of selfie the author wants to convince the audience that a particular action will bring positive results. Often, the author is portrayed doing a specific action, and the author invites the audience to agree that those actions result in positive outcomes.
